Took a little break this afternoon from working in the woods to take a walk in an area that I haven't walked in years. Picked up mama and the dogs and we headed out. I came across some up rooted trees, probably from this past April's heavy snow. There were a handful of trees growing in a wash with very shallow rocky soil. This one kept hold to a pretty good sized rock. (Under the hat) I'm building 2 water crossings for seasonal streams. Both of them are for access for a little 30 ac. "Thinning for wildlife and Forrest health", at least that's what the NRCS calls it. This is contracted work for them on my land. So far a pretty sweet deal. They're paying for that excavator a little at a time.
