What do you think? I'm supposed to be picking up a mill this week. Need an aux oiler but they are expensive, this looks pretty simple.

I've used a gear oil bottle hanging off the end of the mill. Anything that will dribble oil on the tip will work.

My concrete mixer uses oil for the worm gear. I fill a fixed bottle above the gear and a wick at the bottom of the bottle continuously oils the gears. The one you have looks like it will do the trick.

Your picking up a mill next week? Tell us more about that :)

Dex had found a mill on CL and I called the guy. Turns out he was only about 5 minutes away, but spends most of his time at the cabin. I've been playing phone tag with him for a long time and we finally got to talk a few days ago and he is headed up this way. There was a picture but I didn't save it and the add isn't up any more. I think it was a 36" mill but don't know for sure! and he had the mini mill to block off corners.

Sounds like the perfect fit, great news if the deal goes through.

I would put the nylock nut that controls the flow on the bottom not the side, I also would just use zip ties to hold the tubing in place instead of the wooden block.

Looking at the picture of your plastic container, I would have that on the outside, it looks like it's on the inside of the mills support.

I would also get the plastic bottle that holds the veggie oil up higher.

How does it attach to the chainsaw bar?

    Thanks,

It's just a slow drip onto the nose of the bar. From what I have read milling uses a lot of oil and if you don't have enough you heat up the bar and chain. This delivers oil on both ends of the bar so you have plenty

A small ball valve or needle valve would work to regulate the flow

Ok, I thought it was mechanically installed onto the end of the bar sorta like the OEM oiler. It was so simple I couldn't see it!

    Thanks,
