Title pretty much says it all. I was wondering if they made a surge protector that would fit in a regular outlet box and also protect downline? Kind of like a GFI. UPS and APC I know nothing about and inverters I know just enough to be dangerous! Just wanna protect my new baby. Gary
Tripp Lite makes a number of surge protectors that just plug into a wall outlet. You would then plug your appliance into it. http://www.tripplite.com/category/surge-protectors/14
I have a Cyber Power Pure Sine Wave UPS, Protects against shenanigans with the incoming power and will run my stove for about 45 minutes. Enough time for a complete a shut down or to get the Genny going. Or there are plenty of quality surge protectors from Tripplight and others.
My wiring outlet is behind my insert and I didn't want wiring running over the hearth. If need be I could probably get at that circut in the basement and wire one in. Was hoping I could put one in the last outlet box before the insert. Gary
Actually good question, but you are assuming your outlets are wired inline. If they are,yes they do make products for this, will not spend my time, look on net.It is no different than an gfi wired to protect a series of outlets.
They make models that go in the service panel... http://www.homedepot.com/p/Murray-2...it-Breaker-MSA2020SPDP/202562777?N=5yc1vZbm05 Or outside... http://www.homedepot.com/p/Eaton-Co...=REC-_-PIPHorizontal1_rr-_-NA-_-202800798-_-N
