    Hello
It may be a little pricey but really not much more than Glass replacement. :)
More stoves are coming out with it.
The idea is because it is one way mirror, you can see the fire burning but when the stove is off, you do not see the dirty fire box. :)

Great, instead of seeing a ashy firebox, I can see a reflection of all the unorganized cr*p lying around . Um, think I would rather see the firebox. Plus, if I can see it is durty, I'm much more likely to clean it. Otherwise, out of sight, out of mind.

This is a great idea. I can see the fire but it cant see me. I don't want to make it feel self conscious.

It is one way mirror glass and the fire is on the side that can always see you!
You cannot always see inside it. :)

    Hi Don,
WE are getting problems with our current batch of glass from NEG Japan. Looks great for a couple of days then starts to pit on the inside making it difficult to clean then if you hold a light to it you can see fine splits inside the glass. Gets worse and worse until the glass gets rough and impossible to clean. Havent had any break but I am sure that would happen if we didn't replace the glass.
THe supplier tells us that the glass is polished and should be ok. NEG has a more expensive coated glass but it was not supplied.
They are going to send replacement Schott Glass which should do the job I hope.
Otherwise I will be back on a plane with a suitcase full of glass to feed to my Chinese buddies.
Have you come across this issue at all?

That is a pity. Means I have to sort it for myself.
I have swapped out the new 4mm for a nos 5mm glass and over a few days have not seen any crazing. The glass is very difficult to clean however so I am wondering if this years high energy grain might have something to do with it. It is burning superhot.
That is no excuse for the crazing however, the glass needs to be able to handle that.
The new Schott glass is on its way so we will see if it is any better. In the meantime I have installed on of our side wings as a heat deflector shield to see if that help
As you can see the cat is happy with it.
