Before we received the 22 inches of snow, I saw this damaged tree on a ridge but never took the walk so today I did. It's a small Beech that I plan on getting tomorrow.

We have a trail that will bring me real close to it but after some clearing of some downed branches, I should be right next to it.

I find that beech get's punky real fast. I have enough beech to be fussy, but it's a high btu wood. I was finally spitting some today myself:thumbs:

That beech bark disease is here too. Unfortunately.

I just hope the big beech I'll be felling on Saturday will be as solid as the last one I took down.

The Beech on the ridge is home, 0083 thru 0095 are from that tree. The first two pictures are the trail coming to it, I had to clear some downed Basswood which opened up that trail.

The last pictures are a second Beech that was down in a different area, there's more damaged Beech up there but the 310 stopped oiling so I called i a day. I did grab the 028 woodboss when I came home, it's all set to go once I start cutting again.

We have 77 degrees with some strong wind gust so I was glad to get out of the woods.

Nice work! I would've liked the shade, felt like 90° in the sun today splitting. Storms tomorrow, maybe more wood for ya!

We had 77 but it felt warmer. We have plenty of topped off or damaged trees so it can hold off until I take care of some of them.

The key word, looks. Some areas are ok but others like up top are a big mess. I do like getting trails in which make an area look cleaner. I do need a few more trails opened up near the area where the first Beech came from.

Wow, I thought we got really super warm but you beat us again. Tis okay though as we really enjoyed it. Looks to be done now. Some thundershowers coming through again. We had a short round of them earlier today. Now supposed to cool off again.

The windows are open along with the screened in porch so the ole barn has heated up nice today. I'm very surprised at how quick it's drying out after all the rain but the winds are gusting at 30 mph today so that will help.

We'll get rain tomorrow which will help green things up.

When we still had some snow on the ground you could see where the deer had been laying next to a downed Cherry, I took care of that problem.

I have a lot of clean up work to do in the years to come. My goal will be to clean up on both sides of the trails for a ways into the woods so we can see better while using the trails.
