Leafsnap is a New App to Identify Trees

Anyone ever use this? Seems it identifies through the leaf pic. A bark pic app would be easier for taller trees or for in the winter in colder regions.

I have it. It’s ok. My only complaint is I had to have the leaf on something white for it to work. I had a small white lid off of a tote on the back of my 4wheeler for a bit just for that.

I have had students use it for tree ID projects and it’s hit or miss. Could be a useful tool to help but certainly not the end all
