Trash rack/table between splitter and conveyor vs. grizzly bars on end of conveyor

Thinking about putting some sort of trash rack/table between my splitter and conveyor. I know some splitters have something similar as their outfeed table.


Anyone have pics of this? The box wedge on my Eastonmade 9-16 makes so much trash. I don't mind the waste - just looking for more efficient ways to manage it.

 

I just made a thread about box wedges and was asking people about things they like/dislike. I'm not sure how to tag the thread but please try ro find it and give me your thoughts. I'd like to head how the 9-16 handles a box wedge. I tend to burn smaller sized splits so would be looking at the 3.5". I'm still a little concerned that might not be small enough for my liking.

Have you considered adding grizzly bars and a deflector table to the end of your conveyor? That would allow the firewood to bounce into the truck/trailer yet scraps fall through the bars and get directed back under the conveyor. If I had a conveyor that's what I would do. It also makes it easier to cleanup so it's not all packing under the splitter/conveyor.

 

Put an IBC tote with the plastic jug in it under the grizzly bars and change when full.
