I was thinking of getting a light duty wheeled trailer jack to put on my Yardmax 25 ton. It would make it a lot easier to move around the yard, since I don't have equipment to pull it around the yard.

Get the double wheel and grease it well. Single wheel just doesn't cut it on anything not paved.

I’ve been thinking of doing the same thing.

I haven’t done much research yet. A double wheel sounds like a good idea but I can’t recall ever seeing one. I will have to look into this.

Even on a small trailer most dolly wheels I have and have seen are ineffective for actually moving the trailers around on anything but the smoothest and flattest of surfaces. It seems a larger diameter wheel would be better, but then the whole concept of a fold up dolly starts to get wonky due to space limitation. My splitter only has a foot on its flip down dolly. At least they realized a wheel would be futile.

Thos hand cart movers are where it's at. Especially the ones with the nice inflatable rubber tars.

Been looking at them on and off for a year or more. My current CL 30-ton splitter is very tongue heavy and difficult to move by myself especially on slopes. Haven't pulled the plug yet, but this post got me thinking again.

Amazon.com: Adjustable Trailer Dolly,Boat Trailer Dolly 1200lbs Load Capacity,Carbon Steel Trailer Mover with 19''-27.5'' Adjustable Height for Moving RV : Automotive

Currently just move it myself, but not a fun chore and takes a lot of out poor little old me. I'm delicate you know.

Store bought splitters are VERY nose heavy. When I built mine I made it almost balanced. It takes about 30 lbs to lift the front with the tongue retracted and maybe 10 lbs or so with it out. Very easy on full sized tires.

My speeco takes everything I have just to move it.

I've found the splitter i have right now is easier to move around by hand if the ram is fully extended. Takes a good bit of tongue weight off.

Have you tried it yet? Hate to spend the money, but just a bear to move that splitter by myself and even more so as it is mostly a rock driveway with some slopes in places. Not a great picture but gives a little bit of an idea.

I used it. Easier than lifting by the hitch. Specially on hard ground but not as easy as I thought it would be. Only comes with 1&7/8ball and two" won't fit on the dolly. And trying to kick the existing jack stand back is difficult because the tow dolly is so low

Saw some on Amazon that have taller tires plus adjustable height settings. Just dealing with the jack on the splitter is pain enough so be nice to leave it down.
Thanks for the update on yours and I think you get what you pay for most of the time.

I have the double wheeled trailer jack on my splitter. It works well on the parking pad and kinda OK on the hard packed gravel driveway. I am thinking of cutting the hard wheels off and fabricating a holder for a wheel barrow wheel. As it is, it certainly beats a flat pad. splitter2.jpg

Curious. Why wont a 2" ball fit on the dolly? Also, if it dont work out for your needs I understand HF has a pretty good return policy.

The hole for the shaft is too narrow.
It's working out just had to modify the plan a little. The smaller ball will work just to drag it around the yard. And I don't put the jack down anymore

They sell 2" balls with 3/4" shafts.
