I've been staring at this big nasty dead oak out back for about a year now and this morning I decided to drop it. It always made me nervous any time I'd drive under it or if the kids were playing anywhere near it. The 394 got to come out and play on this one.
Oh I definitely eyeballed this one for a while haha. Of course it was blowing 20+ this morning when I decided it was time
It’s amazing what a telehandler can pick up. We have a big CAT at work and it will pick logs that would easily tip a skid steer.
Looks like a remnant of the Gypsy moth kill of 2015. Good to see some useable rounds there but those punky tops can really ruin your day.
Yea it eventually died after trying for a few years to recover from the gypsy moths. Each year after it leafed out less and less. Thankfully about 24' of the trunk was solid and the punky tops will just get tossed on dads boiler.
Good job getting it down safely. Lots of those around here from gypsy moth damage. All I wanna know is how that car got on the trailer?
