Red pine and blue spruce, specifically. The red pine came down in the windstorm, and the spruce was in my nursery. The pine is going to be shoulder fuel, and the spruce is going to be my Christmas tree.
Love pine and spruce, bout the only kind you can scrounge around here, my latest source is a local campground. The owner is cleaning up over the winter, he just sets the wood out by the road. The second time he saw me loading up the wood in my car he came out and asked me what length I would like them cut in.
That looks like a good way to get sap on your seats. I've done the same thing in my little Saturn a couple of times too.
Well I made it up to the house with it... All my trails are lined with pine and spruce, there were a couple spots I thought it would snag but it made it.

Really good looking tree. I have an open fireplace so for now I prefer pine. We've been doing short, evening fires after the munchkin is asleep. There's no reason to waste my better stuff if I'm just going to lose heat.
