We finished our upstairs bathroom last year and my better half has been after me to get a small table for the bathroom corner to set our clothes on when showering. So... I'm at an Amish furniture place and see this table. :eek:Prefect size, maybe 18" x 18" x 26" high or so. Price was good for what it is, so I grabbed it. I'm a sucker for any figured wood anyway... I wish I could say I made it... Maybe someday in my retirement days. :)

Thanks guys... Don't mean to be a show off. I'm just a fan of wood in any form. :) I gave it to my wife for our anniversary coming up.

Table was 125.00 out the door. From what I see at "regular" furniture stores with cheap China laminates, it's not too bad. Nicely made too, but with the curly maple, I look at it as something to pass on to my kids some day.

He told me the legs were brown maple stained with black ebony stain.

Lifetime purchase is right. Well worth the price and supporting the local craftsman. It is stunning.

Thanks Jon... I thought you would like it. I need a dresser for the extra bedroom and have been talking with the Amish guy who built my walnut slab bed... He has been enticing me that if I wanted walnut, he has an uncle that works at the sawmill who has been stashing away highly figured walnut. He used a few pieces of it for the legs of my bed. I would describe it as quilted or gun stock quality... Can't stop thinking about this now.... :)
