21st it's coming down. It's a standing dead Chinquapin Oak. The pic was taken from the road about 50-60 yards away. It's short but fat. Approx 4.5' dbh. It's got a wicked widow maker in it, a vertical leader broke and is laying sideways in the branches. It's about 15"dbh. Needless to say I'm excited
Further away than they look but there is still a need for care, I'll utilize a bucket truck to get the WM out and get some limb weight out of the west ( left side of pic) side of the tree. The east side is all clear so once the weight is out,I'll fall her into the field.
Gonna be a fun takedown! Make sure to get lots of pics, if you were a little closer I'd come help out!
I've got lonely saws........in need of large rounds. Where are we cutting? Sent from my Pixel using Tapatalk
If you can fall her into the field and work it from the near side that WM should not pose much of a threat.
Lots of work there. Looks good. Good luck with the drop. Stay safe. No need to join the existing residents. Sent from my XT1030 using Tapatalk
That tree is so old, you might want to save a couple hunks in honor of the cemetery there, maybe donate to the local historic society. That's a real nice tree, lots of btu's, but she's seen a lot over the years for sure.
Yeah I'm thinking the same thing but i want to get some limb weight off the west side. It's pretty heavy to the west. You can tell with a walk around. The branches on the west are supporting the WM.
