Looks for a thermostat that works with this model stove. Manual says I need to connect it to the control panel and it must have millivolt sensitivity.

Pretty much any standard millivolt stat will work. I used this Lux model with great success, although it has been replaced:

This model is close to that and would work just fine....

So I got this and then connect the thermostat, and I get an e-2 code, then e-1, then it shuts off... what the bleep did I do wrong I wonder? DOes it need the back cover on? I wouldn't think so because it has venting slots.

Another idiot question... how the hell do I knw the thermostat is working? I tested the wires with a mulitmeter, they're outputting 9V, is this right? I cannot tell when the stove goes into "idle mode".

Set your stove to heat setting 7(or where you would have it for the cold), thermostat to 90. Let it run 15-20 min then turn tstat back down, stove shoulg go back to a small idle fire. So the stove should ramp up at the call for heat and drop to idle when it reaches set temp. Now those stoves take a few minutes to ramp up and down so keep that in mind

I just read your post above, and remembered this post from last week.....AFAIK, the jumper is NOT supposed to be in the stat connections. It is supposed to be removed, and just the stat wires go into those connections.

Depends on the thermostat. Some are high voltage using 120vac usuall electric base board. Some are 24v powerd some are millivolt. If your tstat has 2 AA batteries its going to be a millivolt syst. They usually have 25-35 millivolt output ( less than 1 volt )
