So a few weeks back I made conversation with the driver of the grapple truck picking up wood the town took down on my street. I mentioned that I burn and hardwood would be great to have. I figured it was just in passing. When he didn't come back for a couple of weeks I didn't think much of it and was slightly glad because I have been slacking with all the heat and humidity and have plenty to s&s as it is.

The other day my wife texts me at work and tells me "someone dropped off wood". Hard to complain with free heat for the winter, but seeing this new addition on what has been the hottest week so far was a little overwhelming. Hoping it cools off soon so I can get a start on it.

The pictures from above are after the first load. He came back the next day to top it off. 20200718_145255.jpg 20200718_145248.jpg 20200718_145241.jpg 20200716_202744.jpg 20200716_202737.jpg

Great hoards were not built in a day! Nice that he came through and white oak to boot. Tough time of the year to process wood but cant beat the price!

Good deal, nice not having to deal with getting it onto your property in the first place! Hopefully he keeps you well-supplied, although I can definitely see that it (could) become too much of a good thing.... :)

#1 Free wood and good hard wood at that
#2 It's on your property and isn't going anywhere
#3 If it's too hot out it can sit until it cools down a bit, right?
    #4 You're a lucky guy

I wouldn't have the patience. Seeing that pile out there everyday I'd have to work on it even if for a short period of time each day
