Its a Chrystler Concorde, 2004 I think. Whichever was the last year. Got the big motor too, 3.5 I think, Chrystler uses weird numbers. Anyway, the other day she was driving it and the cruise wouldnt come on, but after reaching her destination and restarting to come home it startrex working again.

This morning the same thing happens and then the car suddenly stops and wont restart. She calls work to let them know they have to wait until I can come get her and then tries it again and it starts right up. Whats wrong with this thing? Computer? Crank or cam sensor? Something else? Going to check it after work to see if we have a code.

If you can get the exact vehicle specs I have access to Snap-On Pro Demand. Someone has likely seen this issue and logged the info.

I would look at the codes then look at
    - Loose battery connector or loose ground
    - Fusible link getting corroded (sooooo common on these things)
    - Alarm ........... some aftermarket installations have been the cause of many hellacious problems

Cruise control might work on the vacuum system. Something to check out.

Welcome to the wonderful world of Chrysler electrical gremlin hell. How old is the battery, and are the battery connections clean? That's a start. The fusiblelink is the next one. Then check the alternater, and fuses in the engine bay, then fuses in the dash, wherever those are.

My mom had a 99 grand Cherokee limited. It was nice when it worked, but different things would work one day, and not others. Other things just failed for no reason, some for poor design, and bad material choices. I fixed most everything on it, including tearing the whole dash apart after the blend doors on the dual zone HVAC failed the second time. First time was under warranty. I saved 1400 dollars in labor by doing it myself, with properly engineered parts ( ones not made by Chrysler, but rather a smart jeep owner).

I called that particular grand Cherokee limited, as in limited to what works today, and what doesn't.

    Good luck.

Autozone & Advanced Auto have scanners to pull the codes. They will do it for free as well.

There were no new codes. This car can pull its own codes, btw-- she reminded me that was an option. After talking to her more, the cruise wasn't a symptom this last time, it just died. Keeping an eye on it.

You may want to take a look at the battery terminals. Pull the cables off and clean the. Look for corrosion. Check to make sure the system is charging after that with a volt meter.
