Some call it a smoke dragon and slammer. But me and the old Buck have been together since 1982. She got a new SS direct connect and that made a huge difference. And, the old man had learned how to burn the old dog. Now, she burns as clean as my new little Hampton in the kitchen and puts out more heat. Here is a pic of clean glass to prove it.
hey Chief, long time. new site to me, hope yer back is doin' good, I'm still burning my 26000 and lovin it !
Welcome here. Great bunch for sure. My back is what it is I guess. I get along and retirement has helped. My advice though, would be "don't break your back". Glad your old Buck is still keeping you warm. Chief
My advice would be - stay off the 4wheelers and take 'em fishing instead; we're slow to heal nowadays is all I can think of, Chief. Keeping the wood cut split moved stacked split again moved again is job enough (just about). Four or five years ago, I did not know what dried seasoned oak firewood was. I had always cut it and burnt it. It makes this littlebuck a completely different and enjoyable tool. I'm not much of a poster but I love looking around, thanks.
Chief, If you like it and it keeps you warm, who cares what they call it! I burn em also and wouldn't trade them for a new one!
. Thanks WeldrDave, that's the way I feel too. Me and that old Buck have been together since 1982, kept me warm for all those years. And $900 was a lot of money back then. Had to save for awhile and the wife wasn't convinced it was a good idea at the time. But she has loved the heat ever since. We both have RA and without wood heat we would both suffer more. Chief
Yup, Got it in my lower back, knees, right hip, right arm and fingers! Boy do I know the feeling. It hits me for a day or two sometimes pretty bad, then I'm ok.
I used a Buck 27000 for 14 yrs before buying the 91, it did fine I was just trying to save wood. the wife sees no fire and adds wood (prematurely) and im going thru just as much...
Hey WeldrDave, so you have RA? It sounds familiar! What meds do you take? Curious because my Enbrel, now that I am on Medicare is outrageously expensive. Looking for something cheaper. Chief
