I know due to variances in scales that some may be somewhat lighter or heavier (hopefully buy a couple ounces), but I am wondering the weights of some bars.. :)

    I'll start with a few..

    28" Stihl ES Light

    2 lbs 13.4 oz

    20140428_175955.jpg

    20" Stihl ES

    2 lbs 13.7 oz

    20140428_175845.jpg

    16" Stihl E

    1 lb 10.1 oz

    20" Total

    2 lbs 9.4 oz

    20" Forester Pro

    2 lbs 13.7 oz

20" (whatever comes OEM on Makita)

    2 lbs 8.1 oz

I still have an 18" Forester (non replaceable tip) and a 25" wide nose Stihl ES that I need to weigh.

So the difference in weight between the sugi lightweight and a forester bar is not even 3 ounces!!!!!!

And finally got down to the makita bar before I saw one that looked like it had been used.:p

I need to weigh my stihl 25" wide nose. I have ground the rails a bit and its missing 85% of its paint ...maybe it will be a bit lighter?

But the Sugi has a replacement tip...... and it's lighter. Not by much.

Have you ever weighed an E series bar and an ES series? The ES always weighs more. That's the cost of a replacement tip.

That Forester bar has cut over 10 cord of wood itself. It was the 1st bar I bought for my 1st 036. I don't run saws tank after tank. When it runs out, I run another to let that one cool down. Good on saw and bar..

You'd be surprised on how long a bar will last when taken care of. Keep them oiled, the bar groove clean, tip greased, and a Sharp Chain.

I know I have seen some bars that looked pretty new, but had cut a lot of wood. Good operator, good care, and a good ROV.

I also watch about 30 minutes worth of TV every week. So that time is spent doing something productive.

I have several GB titanium bars that I need to weigh. The paint lasts about 10 cuts.

I watch WAY more tv than that but hey I like tv. I wondered where you found all that time to clean saws...makes sense now.

And until recently I have had one saw, and it was MY first saw. It went with me as I learned how to sharpen. And I have pushed many a dull chain through a cut. I have not I ed now that I sharpen better the last few years that paint does not diss appear like it once did :). This weekend I got out and did some cutting. And when I went to fuel up the bar was really hot, I was going to swap chains as I did not like how the oregon double raked chisel strap chain was cutting. Anyway the bar groove was filled with junk. Went back to the house and blew it out and amazed and how oily the chain looked after :)

And once I trades that junk chain out for the one that was on the 372 the 650 started cutting like it should!

My 25" wide nose stihl bar came in at 3lb 5oz on my straight from hong kong "luggage" scale which is a tiny scale with a hook on it similar to a fish scale but smaller.

I figured the higher end bars would weigh much less ! Ps... Nice bars Dex... I have found also that easy steps in bar maint. will make them last. I should have saved my original bar that came on my Husky 350 waaay back in the day ! I was learning from scratch. That thing was rainbow colored... And no paint left ! Lol :)

IMG_20140727_224939_860.jpg Here is my 25" stihl bar. Now I didnt do the beating to this bar. It came this way with a saw in the box that was once my ms650 before I rebuilt it. A tree service use to own it from the tag that was on it.

Oh it looks like brandnew. Thats my baby. It actually sleeps under the stairs on a covered , walled in poarch, in a hidy hole that i stuff saws in sometimes. The other bats stay on saws or lay in the carport or shed. That one is was away from rain or anything. I would take a pic bits its boxes in with jink we pulles out of the room to clean the carpet today and have not brought back into the house. I nees to sharpen the chain but with all those cutters i been too lazy. I have only ises it twice. Once on a rediculously small tree for it to test it out after xmas and then on that giant 50+" oak in the neighbors yard. But i dont even have 3 tanks of fuel on it.

Been a busy day. Church, cleaned carpet, taking care of son, brush fire call, fighting a wildfire in turnout gear on a 94F day. Making the one hour round trip to town to return the carpet cleaner. Dinner then getting son to sleep, now sitting here on couch watching tv and on here before bed.
