Well 2020 has been a constant pain in the azz and I’m glad it’s finally over.

We had a bad start to the year down here in Australia, this time last year we had hundreds of bushfires burning out of control destroying forests, livestock, wildlife, houses, whole towns were burned and sadly people lost there lives.

We lived each day on edge waiting for rain.
When we finally got the much needed rain we went from fires to floods and more people lost their property.

But Aussie’s are a tough bunch and we thought surely after a rough start to the year things can only improve from here! Boy were we wrong!

First China and then the rest of the world seemed to follow us in to the madness that became 2020. Australia actually faired quite well compared to the rest of the world, but my friends in America boy have you had a rough time.

Sadly one of our friends a very special lady became unwell a month ago and has been fighting for her life, passed away yesterday.

Judy aka the ornery one and wife of our friend Backwoods Savage. I am so honoured that I had the opportunity to meet and get to know such a special person I only wish I had been able to spend more time with her.

2020 certainly has been a rough ride.

So let’s have a better year than last year.
Happy New Year from down under.

Happy New Year's Chris. Tell your dad also for us. I know Chaz and I are looking for a better year ahead. Got a little under 13 1/2 hrs till we can celebrate 2021.
Judy will be missed. She went out of her way to take me to town. Had a real enjoyable time with. She was a great lady.

Thank you leoht. I don't see how 2021 could be much worse. For sure in my life it is at a low point right now.

2020 has sucked on so many different personal levels and is one of the worse of my young 45 years. BUT I am still thankful for the small things this year, still blessed to be able to work and my family is healthy. It has put things in perspective of what matters most and where I want to go; to appreciate the smaller things and not worry about things that I have no control over. My Faith has strengthened.

With that all being said, yeah, 2020 can go sit and spin.

I was a lucky person in that 2020 wasn't really bad for me; I have a job so I can provide for myself, and get to work from home now (goodbye 100 mile daily round trip!). I'm also no longer forced to "socialize" at work so my stress level is down. Although I have had eye issues thru a lot of the year, I have not lost my sight and things seem to be leveling off. Sure, the tent garage caved and damaged my truck, but I have a car to use and I was thinking about upgrading to a more permanent structure anyway - now no more waffling about it. Although I've known a lot of people who got sick (of any kind), and some have passed, the vast majority recovered and my family in Kansas has stayed healthy which is no mean feat when some of them work in elder care facilities and my parents are in their 80's.

My worst year was mid 2013 and it continued well past mid 2014. 2020 was not even close to that hell nor is it even in my personal top half for bad years.

I am blessed and hope that not only does that continue, but that the blessing is shared to everyone I know thru this new year.

I hope your eye issues improve! If you ever need a lift after a procedure, let me know.

    Wow! That’s so nice! :handshake:

I had a rough 2021, but strangely Covid was kind to us. My wife got the summer off and we spent a lot of time together.
I’m gonna remember the good times and forget the bad.

With everything shut down, I got to spend way more time with my wife and kids than I normally would have. No sports or other activities to run the kids to. No rushed dinners. A lot less stress trying to help get everyone prepared for the next day or out the door on time. Life slowed down and I enjoyed that aspect of 2020 so that’s the part I’ll focus on.

No procedures can be done unless things really go bad. I already had existing issues that could be thrown out of wack and require cornea transplants if they try to work on the retinas (the issues I've been having this year - not detachments but several tears in both eyes). It's a balancing act that they are keeping tabs on as I go in at least quarterly for various tests and pictures to make sure nothing is getting worse.

Thank you for your offer - if it ever comes to that point, I will take you up on it
