Big thanks to buZZsaw BRAD for the lead, about 20 minutes from home. The perfect sized Chevy Colorado load of white mulberry. A few large rounds towards the front, and some good sized limb wood that’s been in this woman’s barn for about 10 years

    Glad you got it.

Wonder what the MC is on those ten year logs? Did it look like more wood was once there where the big rounds were?

Man… those logs were BONE dry after I cut and split them. Never saw whole logs that dry inside before. Ended up leaving a few unsplit as they didn’t need it. Here’s my pile of splits. The stuff on the left is the ready-to-burn logs. I agree with you too, it looks like someone else was there previously who made out with the bulk of the massive trunk wood. I’m still psyched though, thanks again :handshake:

That listing was an hour old when i found it. Glad it worked out and you were able to get it right away. Sure beats the skinny pieces!

The only good thing about all the skinnies I scrounged in the spring is that I can burn them this winter with the dry wood from this score. Now I’ve got to figure out where I’m going to stack it for easy accessibility this winter. I wasn’t planning on any more hoarding until winter, but you know, mulberry

Story of my current hoarding life! :picard:   Youll figure it out.

Those "exotic" woods that i like to stack alone can throw a wrench in my side when i score them and dont have an empty or partly filled rack of them. Got room for maybe a wheelbarrow or two of mulberry now.

Like you ill go after mulberry in a heartbeat...among many other wood species for that matter!

Did you put a MM to the dry ones? Just curious.

    Rice Krispy wood.

I just used about 4-5 splits for smoking a piece of pork. It's very aromatic.

Nice score! Cool that we network here too.
10 years dried wood is a rather unique find.
Makes me wonder if I should start a stack somewhere with a dozen logs from each year I cut, and just add to it every year rather then using it. Perhaps seperate each year with a divider of some sort.....

    Awesome take though!!

Ive always enjoyed building forts in hay barns.
Now, I enjoy stacking hay in hay barns.
Spreading it as mulch in our garden made the wuole place smell good for days!
