Ok, so maybe Chuck Norris doesn't actually need a saw buck. But if he did, he would have one of these.
Of course there's no way you'll ever be able to get your hands on his, but for a limited time, you could have one designed and handcrafted by yours truly. And since I have the same birthday as Chuck Norris (March 10th), this is like the next best thing. :D

Weighing in at only 25lbs, it's slender profile conceals the rugged strength of it's construction. Much like Chuck Norris himself, this buck will easily dispatch anything you can throw at it.

The classic, time tested design is elegant and functional. Your work is kept at waist height, which is easier on your back and keeps your chains out of the dirt. It's half-lapped joinery, used in classic furniture construction, adds tremendous strength without adding additional weight. The newly improved notch in the leg allows it to fold up better for storage or transport to the work site.

I'm sure many of you have seen the original - I think it's still in my avatar. I made a few more up for Christmas presents for my brother-in-law, and a couple members here. I have this entire week off, and I could whip up a batch of these if there was any interest. So this is a special, limited time, FHC members only offer.

The kit will include everything required for assembly (you provide the drill and mallet :)):

    IMG_1760.JPG

    Features:
    • Classic sawbuck design
    • Tapered leg profile creates a 90 degree angle
    • Half-lap joinery
    • Wooden construction is easy on chains
    • Offset center leg*
    • Sharp edges rounded over for comfort
    • Lightweight - only 25lbs
    • Improved folding ability
    • Higher toe kick takes less damage and lets you work closer to the log
    Specifications:
    • Width (total): 46"
    • Width (short side): 16" OC
    • Width (long side): 24" OC
    • Height (folded): 40"
    • Height (open): 34.5"
    • Height (crotch): 24"
    • Max working load: Chuck Norris size
    • 2x4 construction
    • 1/2" bolts, 2-1/4" screws, and glue included
    Price:
    • $150 + shipping (around $60 to lower 48) I'd consider trade offers too! ;)
    • Bulk discount: $100 for 3 (buy 2, get 1 free!)**
    • Stain - light or dark - $10
    • Your name and FHC logo: $25

    * The offset leg design can come in handy in many ways. Shorter pieces can be supported better, and you can take advantage of tension and compression forces on the log to get rounds to stay on the buck, or fall off the side. At 16" OC, the short side also provides a convenient firewood measuring guide.

** It's easier for me to make them in bulk, instead of one at a time. So I'd be willing to ship them to separate addresses, if members wanted to pool together for an order. :)

The deadline for placing an order will have to be Thursday morning - I'd like to have this project wrapped up this weekend and ship them out on Monday. I'm not sure when I'll have time to do this again. This is a limited time offer! Act now before it's too late! :D

But wait, there's more! ;) I can customize the dimensions to make the short side match your preferred firewood length (within reason! :picard::loco: ), free of charge. Just let me know when you place your order!

I've also been asked if I could adjust the length of the legs to accommodate taller users. I'm not sure how tall DexterDay is, but it seems like his is the perfect height for him - he's able to stand straight and use the saw from an ideal stance at the hip. I'm 6'3", and it feels comfortable for me as well, but I don't have any videos where I can see my own posture. I'm thinking about adding a couple inches to the default plans.

Looks pretty sturdy with that giant log on there don't you think? How much of that do you think some puny little screw is gonna take? My sawbuck is engineered to take this kind of punishment, day in and day out. The load bearing surface of the cross rail is beveled so that it makes full contact with the leg. In most simpler screw-and-2x4 designs, the leg only makes contact with a corner of this rail, which would be crushed under this kind of load!

Thursday is your last chance! After that, you gotta build one yourself!

I may make them available available for free when i get around to drafting some. In the meantime I did a build thread on it here where i went into some detail about how i build them: http://firewoodhoardersclub.com/forums/threads/sawbuck-build.5730/

There's a pic there of the sketch I'm working from. That's all I have on paper right now.

I've built a few of these now, so I know all the tricks. I test the fit of each joint using scrap blocks before making the cuts in the real parts to ensure a nice snug fit. I'm really proud of this thing and you'll know it when you put it together.

I know the shipping is a killer - looks like $60 to WY. :bug: Tell ya what - ill cover some of that cost myself.

    New Low Price: $125!

    Wow!

You have some serious skills and looks like you take pride in your work as well.

I have no need for one but man oh man if I did you'd have my order.

    Nice job and sweet deal!
I predict you'll get some requests down the road, maybe from me if I can get some tree service logs.

    Well done Shawn

Oh and the ad is pretty cool too, nice salesmanship :)
It's overkill though, the pics alone sell the thing.
Now get back to the wood shop, grab azz time's over :)

If it comes up as a "commercial" address when I use the shipping calculator, it seems to be way cheaper. $40 instead of $60. They'd probably consider you a business I bet.
