Good for him! Good age to start them. I started my daughter at 12, but should have waited. She didn't really have the upper body for it. My son cuts too. 15 and has a couple saws of his own. Great worker. Does your boy want his own saw now?

That’s great. I had my son into it at about 14. GTG’s with hotsaws and ported beasts really kicked up interest. Love seeing that you have some ppe on him.

And short sleeves when there’s snow on the ground. There’s hope for our future.

    Awesome!
Mine shares a common love of wooding.
With a happy Father's heart, I rejoice with all of you who have kids who enjoy moving wood.

I like how he has his left arm locked while cutting. Another safety tip is to not keep your face hovering over the cut

It is so good to see a young man who wants to learn and is not afraid to do a little work. Be proud!

Thats awesome 288! When i read the thread title i was expecting a 5-10 yr old not 15! Howd you get him to do that? If the passion is there encourage it. When i was his age i loved cutting wood and never out grew it! I think i had just started running a saw at that age too. A little cheesy Homelite.
