PSA sent me an alert showing they're back in stock. A friend had given me a heads-up on this as soon as he received the notice, so we both have one on the way. Anyone have any experience with these?
For the cost I don't see how you could go wrong. Thoughts?

The old lady has one, I believe it is for sale. Long trugger pull but good overall. Just not as concealable as her .380

I have one. I carry it when I am working so my Berrata does not get beat up. The 709 is a nice pistol especially for the money.

Here is a good video on the 709

You're selling it? Why? Really curious on that.

Thanks for the link. I was looking at the 43, but for the cost I honed in on the 26. Magazine compatibility was the key.
How do you like the ergonomics of the 709 vs. , say a Ruger LC9s ? I have a LC9s and I kinda don't like it. It doesn't feel "right". It functions fine, has a great trigger, but not quite right in my hand.

I've never had a LC9 in my hands. Have you ever held a M&P shield? It feels very similar to the sheild just a little thinner.

Like i said, she bas trouble concealing it when wearing dresses or leggings etc. She has an lcp that conceals better.

I have the .380. the 768??? or whatever it's called? some say the 9s are just as concealable I have to say I think you would notice it. I have a sd9ve smith. it's not much longer in the barrel or mag but the thicker grip for the double stack and the extra weight, the thing feels huge compared to my .380

I carry a 9 every day in an IWB holster. I doubt the average person can notice it. The thing I really like about a .380 is the size. It easily fits in a my pockets.

Here is my taurus 709 and my S&W bodyguard.

I've handled and shot 2 different LC9's, and I agree with what you say. I don't find it comfortable to hold and shooting it is surprisingly punishing to my hand. On the flip side, I love my LCP which is a almost identical design, just smaller.

Need some advise. Popping the slide off - it's Glockish but this sucker won't slide off. Any tricks/ hints? No help from Taurus, don't want to send it back for something stupid.

Make extra sure the chamber is empty, dry fire it, pull slightly back on the slide and then pull down the take apart lever. Release slide, pull the trigger and push the slide forward. If its not in the right mode, it wont tear down, hence the dry fire.

Worked like a champ. Thank you, it's always the little things.
The dry fire was the key. Thanks again.
