Work in construction and know wood very well from earning a living cutting wood and saw this couple of pallets and saved them from the dumpster to create a small table. It was seasoned Maple with the exception of the legs that were seasoned oak . Came out fairly nice no nails all doweled and matches our old hose very well . Wish i had more time to do this type of work as it is what i really love doing . Did it with a Worm drive skill saw sander and cordless drill . Now sits at the side of my bed as a night stand . nice, a lot of pallets contain good rough sawn wood as you know. I start with pallets to build stuff, working on end tables right now. Also pallets in general are in style right now.

    Luneyburg,
VERY nice work. The beautiful thing about pallet wood is you are not sure what you are going to get until you add the finish. And luckily most of the time it turns out like yours did.

Thanks everyone and HD Nice work ! not sure which is unusual as I have been working with wood all my life, problem is believe it or not some of the pallet wood comes from south america and Asia which I have no clue with the exception of south america and the different mahogany. This is a distressed oak top for one of the pieces for the wife, took an average broyhill dresser drawer pulled the top fixed all the drawers and made a distressed oak top for it . Reworked the drawers added oak pulls and they call it a server lol . Piece sold so we are all happy. Used cut nails and glue to give it the old look, wife and sister stripped and painted it . Fun Stuff only wish I could do it for a living ........ dresser.JPG

Looks great, another top with nice character.
Smooth even paint too, requires good preparation and application for that

Major deficiency in the FHC website needs corrected immediately!!!! We NEED a love/want button in addition to the like button! If my wife sees these my to do list is going to get even longer and there is already not enough of me to go around!

You have talent my friend , funny that the things we love to do just can't pay the bills .
I'm not in your league as a craftsman Luney , but I did make my computer table
top is 5/4 bald cypress decking boards I found at work that I biscuit joined and glued up
The legs and everything else is rough cut white pine I had left from the wall covering that I used in the Man Cave
And the Beer is a Great Lakes IPA

The best part for me is I have an unlimited supply of pallets from the wifes job a mile away. They have used ones and ones parts come in on that are brand new only used once. The new ones are all 7/8 rough sawn and I can run them thru the planer and make perfect 3/4 X 4 boards. The way they are assembled I can get 32 inch clean pieces from them.
this was made from 1 section of one.
