I am considering a swisher eco brute electric log splitter, where can I get the best price? What time of year is it best to buy one? Thanks! Jim

Looks like a nice unit, I didn't know anyone made an electric that large. I'm a huge fan of electric equipment.

For price shopping, Google is your friend. $1699.00 is the best price that turns up with a quick search, but you may do a little better with persistence.

After watching a demo video on the Ramsplitter, I am reminded that an electric motor continuously running a hydraulic pump is not exactly quiet. Not as noisy as a gas motor, but hardly quiet. I'll stick with my Homelite.

Some electric motors are quieter than others. Some pumps are quieter than others as well.

Well what's a good American made 20-25 ton gas log splitter that does 24+ inches? Might as well get ready to buy a gas one if I don't find a 20 ton electric for under 1500

The big electric ones are not in very high demand so most places don't carry them, so it's hard to get a better deal on them.

    Here
    Which splitter?

That's why I may just do a gas one, I would go for the swisher for 1400 and someone would get a great review from me but heck I just can't justify 1700 when you can get a better one that is gas for under 1000

Was looking at a country line at tractor supply that came fully assembled with the hydraulic fluid, if they put that one on sale it's going home with me. Kinda want to stick with towable and 20 plus tons with 24 inch plus log. 20 inch opening kinda scares me even though my stoves only good for maybe 23, I have been aiming for 19 some hit 22 by accident. I figure if you had 20 you need to aim for 16

My Buck 81 will take 21 if perfect. I used to cut 18 but found I had to fight to get them in too often. I now cut 16. They fit better on a 4 ft. pallet too.

Thanks for that information I figured a bigger opening will matter

Memorial Day sale 899 for a 25 ton country line, horizon or vertical 24 1/2 log and a Koehler motor with hydraulic fluid. I will look for the electric over the weekend and if none under 1500 I get the gas. And it's made in the USA! All my specs met but one.
