I'd bet we have at least one member on here who could do this! I'm not so sure they chose the right color for those cabinets on the bottom as it just doesn't seem to go with the top at all.
Yep, looks to be about 3". That would bring the work surface up a bit higher than normal. That's a very classic look.
Yeah the cabinets don't look right at all. That is awesome! Although if that was in my house I could live with it, no doubt.
Cabinets look fine to me. I've thought about this for a forever house. I have a pile of slabs waiting.
I agree on the cabinets being out of place but would also like to add that the backsplash wall doesn't help either! Could've easily improved both and had it fit is with a nice rustic theme, no? But then, taste is subjective. Doesn't really matter if we like the coordination or not so long as the homeowner enjoys it.
True to each their own! Rustic or at least the classic idea of rustic isn't really "in". Modern Natural finishes are. Not trying to argue or be rude, just don't know how to explain it to "old guys" Google image search" wood countertop" brings up many similar, very popular combinations.
I happen to like it! Im 31 years old! Hahaha the trusty rusty busted style is one of the biggest "ins" you can find if its done right. Its just hard to make it a "clean" surface since we know wood surfaces of that time frame are often "paint-chipped/peel" style and you can't really use it as a countertop so much, but some influences work. Butcher block style counters with aged wood (blued) works really well with a seal. Other than that its best as a veneer for the rustic applications.
I did the legs, a buddy did the top, one of a few tables we've collaborated on for a customer Another set for another table, legs are upside-down of course, triangular with an18 degree kick out.
No, just something I saw while on the Internet and it really caught my eye so thought I'd share it with some good guys and gals I know on a forum.
