    Hello

These auger bearings were dry! See dry channel in pics below. Pellet stove is 2009 and auger and bearings were never removed until now!

Here we pump Red High temp grease from a cartridge into the alemite fitting using a grease gun purchased from Lowes or Home Depot.

How often do you apply the red stuff.

    Hi
In pic 6 when you put the bolts into the large bearing holes there is quite a bit of room to move the bearing up or down or to the left and right. Natural gravity pulls the bearing down. Therefore if you tighten the bolts and the auger hangs when turning it by hand you may want to move it up and/or slightly to one side so the auger turns freely. I have done many of these and each stove is different.
Mike Holton can also explain this too.

Last greased the Englander last year when I pulled the top auger to clear a pellet jam… but this stove doesn't run 24/7.

    Hi Krooser
Was the knit line on the auger ground down? Any burrs or ruff spots?
Did the auger need any smoothing out or just wire brushing the carbon or fines off it?
