Awhile back I made a tow hitch and extension table for my Super Split. It has worked out well to stage rounds, hold halves, and to stack splits on. Ive noticed though, that it can feel unsturdy when heavy splits are stacked on the wooden extension. Yesterday, I decided to make leg extensions, that will hopefully make it more sturdy. Up position for transporting Down position for when in use I also added an old toolbox I made probably about 20 years ago. This will house the items the side box held that I took off. Mainly, lube spray, rags, putty knife, extra bearings, socket driver, safety glasses, small first aid kit, ear phones, hand saw, hatchet, and timber tongs I made 6 positions an inch apart, so I can adjust them to different heights, and independently of each other for uneven ground. There's just a pin that holds it in position. The wooden blocks the pole slides into are Oak. The only thing I want to add are some rubber caps to put on the ends of the pipes. The legs themselves, were from an old dog kennel frame.
Tried out the new legs today. Worked well. Staged about 10 cubic feet of White Oak on the end table to see how it would do. Same wood stacked in my 13 cubic foot bucket Also tried some Black Birch Felt much more stable than before.
