This has been one I've pulled out a couple times a year since I got it working at Deer Island in Boston Harbor back in 94'. I've tweeked it since then; In the last 10 minutes or so I'll add 2 to 3 lbs of Cod or Haddock. I'm sure any white fish will do. And I add twice as many clams as it calls for. If ambitious, I'll serve it in a bread bowl. I'm still looking for a Georgia Chowdah! Go Pat's!
I can tell you the best steak I ever had was in Crown Point Indiana, But some of the the best fish I ever had was in Mandan North Dakota.
Funny GF and I just had this discussion on the porch - DaveGunter covered all my delicacies. I just made a seafood chowdah last week. Prefer the non-bacon base.. doesn't do it for me personally. 1/4cp butter melted, sautee one finely chopped sweet onion add 1/2gal half-n-half 1/2gal milk slowly bring to simmer. Red potatoes diced and boiled in cream mixture until tenderish separate skillet once above is close to done: left over lobstah meat - knuckles claws whatevah warmed in a pat of buttah Crab meat can be substituted 2 cans canned clams (I'm down south so forgive me) Quartered Scallops sautéed in buttah Shrimp sautéed in buttah add as they are done whatevah white fish (cod, haddock, Pollack,) sautéed in buttah and added prior to serving. Wicked good Chowdah salt & peppah to taste
I spent a year.5 in working in Athens Alabama. I don't remember them having such a fine accent as you have.

My Grandmother and my Mother use to make a really good corn chowder. I need to get that recipe from my Mother. Haven't figured out what we will eat for SuperBowl. Maybe the corn chowder and some home made biscuits or croissants.
Thank you. I'll get it. But I would like yours as well! I know my Grandmother's/Mother's has corn, potatoes, bacon, milk, and some other stuff. It's the other stuff I need to know!
