Got up before dawn, poured my coffee and enjoyed the sunrise then headed out back to finish splitting anything i had left in rounds. I even let the husky eat a few that were too long. Dad and i torched off the old axle stubs on that splitter yesterday and welded on some different hubs and bigger tires. It gave the splitter about a 3" lift kit which helped out great! No more slightly bending over to hold the round.

Looks like it was a beautiful day for splitting too. Now if you could make that splitter so you could stand it up, you'd save yourself a lot more work! The work even goes faster that way.

Oh it goes vertical too. I prefer to split the small to average size stuff with it horizontal but for the big rounds she gets tipped up :axe:

Curious how that lift will affect the vertical mode. Did you move the hinge for the ram and beam?

Works just fine. I just slid a small split or piece of scrap lumber underneath it. I do most of my splitting horizontal anyways.

They'll eventually get split but for now they're doing a good job holdin that roofing on. Yes the sky was extra blue that day!

It's an Iron and Oak splitter my dad saved from the woods behind some guys house. Dad was haulin some vehicles from the guys house and noticed it sitting back in the leaves with flat tires and a locked up motor. Guy threw it in the deal for free. We had a matching motor for it and gave it a little tlc to get it back up and running. Works great!
