Today marks the beginning of summer. I used to look forward to it but it is getting harder with the heat and humidity. Still, there are some good things and some good times ahead and hope we can enjoy them.

I wish you all a happy summer.

Temps have started to climb to normal June warmth the s past week, otherwise SW VA has actually had a traditional spring and early summer in terms of weather.
    Enjoy!

we are enjoying the summer weather we have encountered. Not so much the 90 F but the 75 to 80 F days. Our summers at home rarely get above 73 F.

Any day the heat or AC is off. Is a good day.

The $'s saved heating with wood, are spent on AC. Well, some of it.

I do have a preference for cooler temps. After the removal of a basal cell issue, shade/sunscreen is even more of a friend. I had a couple of bad sunburns when young and dumb.

    Enjoy the season!

Same here. I never go outside without a shirt anymore. We go to the beach over the 4th every year. I wear those quick dry white shirts, beach hat, have two umbrellas and load up with sunscreen on my face, neck and legs. I enjoy the beach especially with the grandkids but I can't take the hot sunshine anymore. I love winter. The winter's here are pretty mild, lows around 25 and highs in the 50s. It does get into teens sometimes and even a couple 0 degree days at times but not too often.

I enjoy all the extra daylight and abundant sunshine this time of year. The 90+ degree temperatures get old, but that helps me appreciate the cold, dark days of winter when they too are getting old.

I too love the extended daylight hours but this extreme heat can go.

I like Fall the best. The relief from the heat is great and gets my ambition up.

And here I thought you were going to forget posting about the days beginning to get shorter daylight as of tomorrow. Glad you remembered!

Well, now we can look forward to posting about switching back to standard time in 5 months!

It certainly felt like summer yesterday with temps in the mid 90's and humid. We had 3-4 days in the 90's, but supposed to be a bit cooler today (still with high humidity). Looking forward to summer flowers to start blooming soon.

I enjoy living where we get to experience the four seasons but I detest the extreme heat & especially the dang humidity.:faint: I guess it’s just like a stretch of extreme cold weather though. Just have to hunker down and wait for it to pass. I love my basement for the warmth of the wood in the winter & I’m spending quite a bit of time down there this week with the heat.:)

I’m also an early morning person who likes to get to bed at a reasonably early hour so I’m not so much a fan of daylight savings time either.

Don't mind "normal" SUmmer temps, but hot and humid you could have! (sorry T.Jeff Veal)

I kinda miss it when its gone as i'm a cold weather person. Since I work outside I can get a lot more done in the cooler weather.

Daylight savings time should have never been started.
