    Anyone use STP brand?
    Cheapest I've found.
12.99 per gallon. Closest is TSC at 15.99 on sale.
    Stihl and Husqvarna run 24.99

Ouch , $15.99 , and it just keeps climbing.

Never used it myself so can't really be of much help.

Rural King anywhere around you? $8.99 gallon right now for CAM2.

    I'm sure STP is fine.

Autozone and Harbor Freight around here only have STP in quarts.
I haven't bought bar and chain in a quart in a very long time.
iirc, it's a weird red color, more like transmission fluid.

Looks like everyone is in the bar and chain lube game.

Jump on Walmart.com and get some Black Max. I think it's $10/gallon shipped, at least to where I am.

Kinda funny.......Napa's bar and chain oil used to look like bar and chain oil and was tacky. The past year or so, it's been red and smells just like ATF too.

I should've looked first, but I just checked the oil I mentioned and it's now $14/gallon.

Walmart canola oil's $9.12 a gallon. I might try some, but I've got about 6 gallons of bar and chain I picked up a couple years ago for 4 or 5 bucks.

Canola oil gums pumps up ect, it also doesn’t stay on the chain well so your lubrication properties are less. Bar oil up here is 8-10$ a gallon maybe a little more so I’ll just keep using it.

I’ve run canola oil in my climbing saws for quite a long time now. No ill effects observed. After all before those Canucks convinced the rest of the world it was a food oil it was used as a machine oil. Canola is fine but other veggie oils will eventually become solid/rancid and wreck the saws oil pump. You could definitely pick some up and mix half and half with bar oil to stretch your supply on hand.

Must have been other vegetable oils they used then because I had to actually heat the pump up to get the waxy plug removed from it.

Was in Northern Tool this week and Stihl Synthetic was $26.99 and orange was 24.99. Picked up a gallon of orange cause I’m down to less than 1/2 gallon. Sure wish I would’ve stocked up a lot earlier

I am going to be on the lookout for some of the other brands y’all have mentioned.

I’ve been using Canola oil in my top handle saws for over 3 years now Chris no trouble, and I’m not the only one I know who does so. Other veg oils 100% will plug the oil pump as you say.

I've used canola straight and mixed in cold weather. No problems.
I did switch back to bar oil when the weather warmed.
