Anyone (very) familiar with some of these “other” stove manufacturers (the better one’s) besides Jotul and Morso? Any comments on those stoves?

Once had a Lange, a Norweigian "cigarette burn" stove.
Also a U.S. all welded steel Tempwood "box"; still used in my shop.
Excellent top load burner with no tubes or any EPA devices. Just a plain Jane, easy heater.

Rais, Denmark. Worth a look for the curious. This one is plain appearing compared to other models.

Rais---for the BTUs the models put out this is lovely but $$$$$$$.
Splits for most models have to be around 12". People here who have them here buy the Rais for looks, for entertainment heat.
Architects we know love the elegant Rais. It's a high end cute boutique stove...IMO of course. Of course.

It’s bad enough having a silly stove that must be loaded sideways by chucking logs in, it’s a whole lot worse to only take little 12” length splits. Are we trying to heat? or what? Maybe a little neon sign of a fake fire is good enough for some folks.

Really, gas fireplaces can be sufficient if you don’t want a real stove.

Yea if I needed a tiny wood stove I would just go coal. The chubby jr can run all day on one load.

Had a Waterford Erin coal burner. Could also burn wood. Fantastic stove with the best rocker system I ever used. Very well made with firebricks inside entire firebox. Turned it into a wall hanging. Waterford Stove Plate After.jpg Wife overfired it and the internal cast iron panels bubbled so when I tried to get replacement parts was told no luck. They only sold new stoves and no parts then they pulled out of the US market.
