Stove Pipe Screws

    Mine seems to back out with the heat cycles. Once a month or so, I'm screwing them back down. Anyone else have this happen??

    Maybe try a drop of blue Loctite on the threads (red, you might not be able to get em out)... it's rated for 450 degrees. Even if it got hotter, maybe it would still be enough to them from backing out.

    Same problem. Heat expansion. Just check them every so often.

    If the thread lock doesn't hold up to the heat how about a small dab of retort cement. It get brittle but it would probably be enough to keep them in place and it would crack away when you needed to remove the pipe as long as you only used a small dab.

    A fan of super high temp rtv will work too.


    I've not seen this issue though.
