I had stumbled across this thread and I have to say that I thank you gentlemen for your ideas. Gave my sawbuck a tryout today and it worked great,
Yes MikeyB! Works great mine isnt as long but Im thinking about adding to that for my long oak sticks. Worked great for rounds 8 inches or so Much easier eh?
Good show. I opened this expecting to be disgusted by a low life thief, but was pleasantly surprised to see some Honorary Yankee ingenuity taking place.
Stolen? American Pride? Never! Borrowed or Bartered is the term. bushpilot did well to give us this idea since this is often what's found lying around in a back yard anyways. I would have posted this on his thread but I wanted to give folks like MikeyB an idea of how dang simple this is. And it really does make it easy.
Who needs stinkin' dimensional lumber and screws! I like the wider upper opening on mine, but those are fine looking sawbucks FatBoy85 and MikeyB !
Haha I should have given that some thought before I got the lumber! Strong oak branches or dimensional lumber that may rot faster?oh well. I think I was looking into keeping it secure and just a little higher off the ground. Truth is, it works like a charm, I should make another for the long branches. Would hate to get an unbalanced one in the face after a finished cut.
Sure beats sawing off the back of the truck. I'm reminded of that every time I see the saw cut into my bed !!! And you think hitting a rock dulls your chain.........
I meant that I expected to see that your sawbuck vanished over night or something. Like actually stolen.
