Any of you guys running this new battery powered saw? I am considering it to keep in my car for scrounges, I have a farmboss with me all the time but I think this little saw would draw less attention, any thoughts, Thank you

    I've got this one.
    Power+ 16" Chain Saw
It's quieter than a gas chainsaw, think electric hedge clippers and that's about the volume. The battery lasts a long time. It just stops instead of petering out. The battery is heavy, so the saw is a bit heavier than my MS180. It took a long time to charge it the first time. It leaks bar oil a little so I keep it on newspaper.
As far as cutting goes, it does the job, not as fast as a gas chainsaw. I cut fresh red oak rounds about 16" in diameter with it, last winter.

Cool, so at least I know my memory isn't completely shot.

I have looked (online) at just about every battery saw there is. The Stihl seems expensive, which they always are. I like Stihl, but...

I recently bought a Milwaukee battery pole saw after researching heck out of that. I got Milwaukee because it had a big battery and also because I found a deal where I got another attachment for free, and I chose hedge trimmer. I got these for clearing trails, both of them. They work awesome. The pole saw is amazing how fast it cuts, even at slow speed. It has a high speed, too, didn't know that for a day or so, lol. It cuts so good, am wanting a battery saw. BUT... they are friggin heavy. Bummer for me. Would rather wait a couple years but...

I haven't pulled the trigger. For what I need, I don't have to get the best but I will likely favor lighter ones. I am sure the Stihl is great but I'd probably buy something less expensive. Bunch of brands out there.

Was at our local supply house yesterday and they had a deal on a Milwaukee chainsaw and blower (with charger/battery) for $449 IIRC

Chris cwn877, has an Echo battery saw. walt & I watch him cutting and it is an amazing saw. We were cutting on a log load so the logs were good sized (8-12").
The battery lasted about 30 minutes IIRC.
