Having a problem with my 290. Cant set it to "run" or "stop". Ran a tank full of gas though it yesterday morning. Several times starting and stopping, no problems. Gassed it up later, normal cold start up procedure and the switch would not go above half choke. Didnt want to force it and snap plastic. Tinkered with it for ten minutes and dont see the problem. Involved repairs not really my thing. Maybe porting job and/or 261 in my future.
    Any ideas IMG_0612.JPG IMG_0613.JPG IMG_0614.JPG

Thanks Kevin, it worked. Much appreciated. Seems its still a bit "stiff" to shut off though.

It probably tweaked the spring a little when it was underneath the mc lever. Might finagle with it for a few and get it to smooth out
