Yesterday I was gifted this saw from a friend who is cleaning out his garage and because he is retired he has no more use for it. I gladly accepted but now I don't know what the heck to do with it? He said to me if I wanted to sell it, "go ahead" He didn't want to be bothered. he is moving South to warmer climates and throwing out lots of crap! …. I haven't got a clue what it's worth but it's in decent shape and runs! Any thoughts gang?
I wish I had that. Need to put in a sump and tile in the basement...and redo some poorly draining driveway. Great gift indeed!
Run a water line to the saw when cutting inside. Makes a big difference in life of the blade, cuts better, and almost no dust
You're right about the dust! I cut some before for plumbing ..used a circular saw with a concrete blade. Dust galore!
I did a footer drain and sump in a house this past year, cut about 5 foot without water and couldn't see at all in the basement. Added a water line and no more dust!
I used mine to cut the plank roof off of the house. Put a 12" carbide tooth blade on it. Cut through shingles, nails, plank, everything
Sounds like it may come in handy someday. Not working with concrete much, "the occasional flat pad" or side walk fix, I wasn't thinking much about it. I'll kick around the idea of keeping it.
WeldrDave, I have had on for 20 years. It will cut just about anything you want to cut. Yep. they are worth about $400-$600 depending on how many blades go with the saw. I wish I knew a way to convert to a chain saw for wood. because it really goes when it goes.
Cool, Thanks! I never owned one of these. I've seen them used, and she's a "HEAVY" beast! He didn't give me any blades, just the way it is in the pic is how I got it.
Dave, stick a steel cutting blade on it and it will eat through just about anything made of iron/steel. Pipe, plate, channel, tube, sheet, whatever. Just don't let any of those Fisher stoves see you run it.
Could make a debut at an upcoming GTG? If somebody has some concrete slabs to make cookies out of.....
I have a porta-band saw, chop saw, pipe cutters and torches for most of my demolition "Now" I got me a concrete demolition tool!
