I don’t think the renaming & new paint job will have any effect on whether or not they serve their purpose. They are just trying to make things shiny/flashy for todays younger generation
And they went to .050 / narrow kerf vs .063 Standard on the 004 bars. 043 / narrow kerf on the 001. I'm not sure about the 006 bars wether they narrowed up the gauge or not. From what I've read and experienced so far.
I just bought a 32” ES light and it’s the original style. I prefer old school black and white. There’s probably tons of black and white still hanging on dealers walls. There was no shortage the last time I was at RK. Ace Hardware’s probably have years of black and white rollomatics left. I’d like the black bars with orange lettering more if they didn’t have the abstract impressionist bs.
Old school please. Not a fan of the new paint jobs. Like the big time beer brewer that has a different can once a month. Just leave it alone , If you see a white bar with black letters you know what it is. That is what makes them what they are.
I'd prefer having the option to grease the roller than new paint scheme. Recently had another fairly new Stihl rollertip spread out and I don't even plunge cut much. Yes, My oiler tank is empty when the fuel is.
I dont like the new graphics personally. I "found" a 20" one for sale by accident at an OPE dealer and got it cheap so i bought it. What Lightweight Bar did i Get?
The graphics don't do anything for me. But renaming the bars was probably not a bad idea vs the old cryptic combo of name, part #, and letter codes. Too bad the new names are nearly as cryptic as the old. Honestly, 99% of saw buyers don't know or care about the different bar profiles, and what they do. They don't know what gauge or even what chain pitch is on the saw. What is a 3003 vs a 3005 mount? Just want what fits their saw and cleans up whatever mess they're up against.
New paint. Higher Prince. But its flashy. I dont think they sell the old cheaper, bouth will be more expensive. But Stihl bars are usually good quality.
