I had a guy who was friendly with my dad years ago call me yesterday. He's trying to sell some saws for a buddy of his who is older and sick. He knows I cut a lot of wood and got my number from a mutual friend. He tells me he has 3 saws and I inform him I'm only interested in the biggest of the 3, being a 441 msc. I have not seen it in person to know what kind of shape it's in but the guy tells me it looks like it hasn't seen much action. I have gone online and see it's a 70cc saw. Does anyone know what a fair price would be if it is indeed in good to very good condition?

70cc saw in very good condition, I would guess around 4-500. I just had a very clean 500i listed on CL near me for $700, with case and extras. It sold pretty quick. If it was near minty example of a collectable model, price goes up.

What are the other two saws? Are they worth buying to flip? The income would reduce the price of the 441.

c348? Can't quite read my writing. I'm not into working on saws much so that's not a thought for me.

We have a 441 at work and it’s been rock solid dependable and that’s saying a lot after being used for years by folks that frequently throw chains, forget to add bar oil, cut with dull chain, back over saws…..

500-700 no problem. I’d say a fair price considering it’s in good condition would be $600 since the seller would have an easy sale. If the other saws are in running order a package deal and try to make a couple bucks on the sale.

there’s an average 441 for sale on FBM locally for $850, it’s not moving very fast.

441 would be ideal for your needs. Never have owned or used one, but 500-700 seems the going rate for average used ones. Popular saws for tree guys so common well used. The 462 replaced the 441 & 461
