I've reluctantly decided to offer my Stihl 036 Pro up for sale. This saw came to me from Wyoming, via FHC member WaddleRemodel. He knew I was looking for one, and he found it in his local classifieds and offered to buy it for me. It sounded like it was basically an old man's firewood saw, and then it didn't see much use after that. This is a great saw - it's been my go-to firewood saw almost as long as I've owned it. I've probably put around 15-20 tanks through it. The only reason I'm considering parting with it, is because I'm upgrading to a ported, m-tronic version. I could let it go if there's another FHC family member who will put it to more use. This saw is all original, and bone stock. There's a few dings and scrapes, but nothing is missing or broken, and everything works as it should. Starts and runs great. I replaced the air filter (OEM), fuel filter, and the name plate badge. I'll include the original air filter and name plate badge with the saw. $350 shipped PHO $400 shipped as shown: - 20" 3/8 .050 Rollomatic E bar; green label/narrow tip - very sharp Stihl 33RS3 72 chain with 75% life Thanks for looking!
Great little saw there for cutting firewood, a real work horse.... Good power to weight ratio too. GLWS
I made up a bookmatched pair of 8/4 slabs over the weekend, out of one of the smaller pieces. I haven't used the big bar yet - I still need to acquire a few more bits before I can use that setup.
Nice work mister, and wow is that some pretty walnut-beautiful grain...I'd like to see the final product!
Here's a couple more pics. On the bottom of the saw, there is a scratch that almost looks like a crack. I tried to take a close up pic to show the handle is fine. Manufacture date: 6-99 Some pics of the bar and chain:
Last of the pre-EPA 60cc saws from Stihl. One of the best saws they made, and the same as the 360, except for no stupid flippy caps and the 360 has an upgraded beefier clutch drum and bearing that you can upgrade this saw with. In the Northwest this saw would be sold by now. These are one of the most respected saws in these parts. I love mine! It only takes a minute to tune and it runs like a champ. The book says 20 inch max, but I run mine with a 24 inch just fine. It has the same oil output as a 362, which has the exact same rated power and Stihl says the 362 will run a 24, so this one will too.
Also for this price? People typically want $350 for the crappy homeowner 290 saws here. This is a good price for a good pro saw.
This was a great little find. Ran it before sending it to Shawn. No worries working with the seller either. Glws Shawn.
