For a small light limbing saw is there a noticeable difference in the performance between ms 170 and the ms 210 saws? I'm already using the 170 but can pickup a used 210 it runs but boggs down I suspect fresh gas, filter and a plug will fix it; I can pick it up for $100. I'm only going to have one Limbing saw so either one of these options or wait for something else. Ms 170 = 30 cc, 8.6#, 1.7 bhp Ms 210 = 35 cc, 9.7#, 2.0 bhp This will be a limbing saw only! If I need more power I'll breakout the 029 or the 066 depending on need. Eventually I would like to get back to a 2 saw plan maybe around a ms 360 and a limbing saw if I can't cut it with those I'll just pass. I burn because I like to, I love the wood heat, and I can get the wood for free most of the time. When I figure in my time it is much cheaper to buy split oak delivered for $160-180 per cord.
I have a 170 and a 250. The 250 is the same as a 210 just a bigger engine. I like to use my 170 to cut brush, trim trees, and some limbing. My 250 is better suited to a limbing saw or is it good for cutting small firewood. I think a 210 would fall in the same category. For $100 I don't think you will go wrong if the piston and cylinder are in good condition.
I bought it, will clean it up and see how it runs sometime in the next week or so. Need to unload and split this load of elm in the meantime. I'll use the hydrolic splitter for this!!! Then I need to cut up a storm blow down ~20"dbh oak at a neighbors as soon as it cools off.
