What a good feeling having all that wood ahead... Makes you want to keep getting more... That's money in the bank so to speak Looks great... Beautiful where you are!
You burn a LOT of wood Dave!! Love the stacks (long straight stacks and the view) Beautiful pics!!! (As ALWAYS! )
How long is that stack? I'm very surprised it stays straight! I modified the racks I have this summer so I have only about 8-10ft between uprights, figured it would be hard for it to lean. The wood I stacked this summer is all "wonky" already. I can only guess that it's moving from the wood drying out. My goal is to be 5-6 years out on wood but I'm starting to wonder if it will be possible. I have no desire to restack wood several times!
Figures to around 4ish cords in a row... 70ftx5x1.4= 495 cu ft. Year per row? I delivered 12 cords to a customer this summer. They burn that AND ~15 tons of coal. Works out to like 30 cords a year.
Burn from 5.5 to 7 cords /season. ( 4 years with the cat stove) this year keeps up like now, will burn on the low side. Pretty loose stacked, I figure near 7 cord total stacked tight when it goes in the shed. 6 state cutting area, & a little over a cord of scrounges. Wondering, as warm as it is , is it drying more this year than on average years ? 35 mph wind now, raining
I really appreciate seeing them mountain! I know sometimes we don't appreciate something like that if you see it everyday, but that picture is refreshing.
