I have not posted in a while lot of changes here about 8 weeks ago I sold the mill and edger to a business in CT I had a few rough weeks sawing and my left hip gave up the ghost I had to make a tough choice and sell the mill I am sitting here now I got a new hip last tuesday and starting to get around pretty good now they are saying 4 weeks until I am allowed to go back to work at the saw shop
Well that is a bummer to hear this. I know that you had a nice thing going for you and enjoyed it. Hope you get well soon and back to the shop sooner than later. Where abouts in Ct did it go? I unfortunately live in the state so wondering if the new home might be close.
Hopefully you heal up quickly. Seems nowadays people are getting back to normal activities pretty quick after hip and knee replacements. Best of luck with your PT!
My mother just got a new hip too. After a couple weeks to let swelling settle, ends up one leg is now a good bit longer than the other. Hopefully the saw shop picks up for you.
New hip at the age of 48. It hadn't slowed me down to much. I don't jump off the tractor or the back of the truck any more. Still lift anything I care to.
Shop will pick up as soon as weather cools off I am in shop today hanging out not working yet and I always had one leg longer than the other so maybe they fixed that !! JB
Thanks for the well wishes everybody as to selling the mill it is a bummer in some ways but I will have some free time now to be able to keep up on my firewood which I enjoy doing and some time to do some projects which have been put off for years and the biggest plus is some of the money from the sale paid off the mortgage on house !!! thats a good feeling Thanks again everybody JB
Do you have a smaller mill? Do any chainsaw milling? Nice to have someone with your knowledge and expertise hanging around.
I used to do a lot of chainsaw milling I still stock milling chains in the shop and I have customers with bandmills so I am still involved in all of it so I will still be around JB
I will keep that name in my head , If/when I am in the area I might have to do a suprise visit. Good to hear you're not going anywhere and still keeping your feet wet. Hope you get back to somewhat normal soon.
Prayers for a great recovery JB. After tackling some of the "side jobs" you'll be missing the milling.. probably more relaxing.
