Yes you do, pronto. Snow can come any time there now.

Just so you know (like you don't:picard:), the sooner you split that, the sooner it'll be dry. Seriously though, I have some stuff I'm working on too. Might snow tonight.

    No time like the present.

A couple weeks of wet weather and you'll be regretting not getting it done while its dry outside!

Same forecast they're giving us now, earlier was colder & more snow. I'm kinda hoping for colder, constant freeze/thaw cycle makes a mess & hard to get anything done outside. I hate skidding logs through mud.

Is that your main logsplitter @ cbvt? If so, it's the old lowboy style that I use most.

Yeah guys it will get split and stacked by Halloween.. Not this years wood.. It went from snow to HOT to snow. I can split in snow as long as I can see rounds ..

Horkn yup that's splitter I use.. On huge rounds I like that its low..

Medium rounds I put it up on oil ramps so its taller.

Always say I'm going to upgrade it, but it still works good and if it's not broke ... don't fix it and I'll get a better one someday (ie when daughters out of college:rofl: )

I do the same as you with my low boy. For the big rounds, it's pretty easy to just roll them up a wood ramp. The normal sized stuff it's simple and fast to split with the entire splitter raised up.

But don't seem to mind when it happens to someone else. That is, skidding through mud and some of us don't get all the way through the mud...

Yeah, here if we get an El Nino winter, we get warm/cold cycles with rain when it should be snow. It pushes the jet stream north & we get really damp grey crappy weather. They were forecasting a cold snowy winter, but they're backing away from that. I like 20F & Sun in the winter, but in West Michigan the sun goes behind the lake effect clouds from November till mid January. We're the second cloudiest state After Washington. Gets a bit dreary.

Canadian border VT any snow this morning? None here but they’re getting it north of here this morning. 6” + in places.
The El Niño is supposed to bring the northeast coastal states bitter cold and heavy snow this winter with a lot of blizzards. We’ll be glad to send you some amateur cutter

CBVT, you will get it done - split one day, stack the next. No sweat! Easy for me to say from here, right? ;)

Having a whole mess of work to do before burial myself, I feel ya.
