Got to saw on a storm damaged Hickory tree. They say sometimes it's better to let the saw go and run. What do they say when the tree flat out rips the saw down to the ground..and out of your hands ? Lucky ? Luckily I was ready for it...had my worst chain on in preparation. Had so much weird pressure on it..was all hung up. Cut it up alil higher .as I was protected behind some standing hickories ...with less chance of the tree coming my way. Got it cut...and it popped off the stump and drove a foot into the ground. Some pushing with the loader..and yanking on it with a chain..finally got it down. Only lost a decent chain. The Sugi bar..of coarse...is totally fine. So worth the $ ! Got some good straight 10 foot logs set aside in case we get a sawmill...and a stack ready to cut into firewood too. Good day ! View attachment 427895
Always good to get a tree on the ground without injury. Good job. Early Halloween!! A headless tractor driver!
Trying to judge tensions on a leaner can be tricky. Glad you are safe HF! Chains can be replaced. Some sweet btu's from that big shag.
Indeed it is! Iron Craft EGR66....66" grapple. Iron craft is who makes the implements for TYM I believe.
That tractor looks good in this thread, too! You'll have to keep us posted on how it works out for you.
We are having a cool down In Arkansas too. 98 to 101. Lol. Seriously the next few days it's supposed to drop by 20 degrees. Sure has been miserable lately. I'm going through 3 shirts a day
Love some shag bark! Someone w a spinner/breaker could replace a few links and have that chain back in service.
That's a really good idea..thank you ! I could even have it made into a 20"..as I have the same bar in 20 also !
