I was up at a pre-thanksgiving dinner this past weekend at YMCA camp Jewel and I didn't even realize that is was a volunteer firewood gathering weekend . I was just a freeloader for the dinner. Next year I'll volunteer.

Anyway when I parked the car, my eyes lit up! 8 or so hydraulic splitters, huge piles of logs , couple of peavey's laying around, and these corrals of firewood. Purdy indeed. 1112171636.jpg

That is a good thing they are doing. If you can help that is great. And if you can help, you just might make the suggestion that they at least try to do this cutting and splitting in the spring?! That way they are not giving green wood to burn.
