This tree was tangled up in a windfall with the red maple that Ive been sawing up. My tree climber buddy helped me get them on the ground last summer. This one was supported off the ground by the stump, so I had been working on the maple first. I'm planning to knock out a bunch of firewood this weekend, and I wanted to grab the rest of the slab wood to use in my cribbed ends. So I grabbed the cherry first - it was closer to the trail and I didn't want to leave it on the ground. I ended up with 2 7' cants, one about 8x8, one 6.5X7. The firewood from this tree is the cherry on top of my holz. The cants are soon to be bandsaw food.
