So my Solo quit working the other day. I was goin right aheadoner and hit an old rope that someone left lying and the brush grew up through.
Then the engine would wind up but the blade wouldn't turn.
    Any ideas ?

The blade head could have loosened up and walked off the drive shaft. That has happened before on my stihl fs110.

If the engine revs up freely you could have snapped the drive shaft/cable.

    This.

I didn't think you were supposed to run a blade on a trimmer that has a cable drive , only on driveshaft models.
I could be wrong? Hey there is a first time for everything.

I've seen cables on blade capable units. I think you may be thinking about curved vs straight shaft types.

It is a straight shaft. I need to year into it gently. Thank you for all the replies. I very seldom get enough bars to get on the site.
I'm hoping I will have 1 more day and will be done siding my entryway. Then I will get on it.
