Nice, ug, but, :emb:, where is the surge protector for that precious Harman? Lots of t-storms of late. You won't be happy if you get lightning coming in. I have to tell you that I have come to unplugging my stove when it isn't in use. That is the best surge protection I know of. For now enjoy the heat.

Ran a short cycle yesterday morning then it ran several times last night. Will run tonight too, I have no doubt. Turned off the thermostat before I left for work this morning. House should only cool down to the 60's so the cats and bird will be fine.

I believe his is set up like mine, his surge protector is way over on the right - where that blue light is. Look at the plug in the socket, that is a SP plug, not a stove plug.

Luckily we've had some sun, So no stove needed. But the winter blanky's are back out. And the windows get shut over night. Kitty's certainly wish we had the heat on over night. One went under the covers trying to keep warm, And the others were snuggled up close to the Mrs. She throws more heat than me. ;)

I actually like this weather and am enjoying it.

I don't know if those multiplug SP's are adequate. Most folks here recommend one that is in the outlet: upload_2016-6-10_21-25-32.png I'm no electrician so I can only go on what has been passed on here.
I put this one in: upload_2016-6-10_21-28-19.png
We have lost way too much from surges. That is way I pull the plug many times. I'm told that even the best surg protectors may not help in a electrical strike.

I'm not embarrassed to say that I had my stove on. After all, that is what it is for. Not for the calendar. In Maine, cold knows no date.

I should have specified that it looks like a UPS/surge protector. The blue light and plug lead me to that conclussion - most straight surge protectors have a red/orange/yellow light and a straight plug. Those do fine protecting sensitive electronic; haven't lost anything in 30 years - except things that weren't on UPS/surge protector. And, most of them have a protection warrentee for up to something like $10k.

it does have a surge protector, and during the summer months I unplug it just for good measure and sanity during those good thunderstorms.

Not just new England. I'm burning fires here in the PNW still. Every few days is plenty unless we have a heat wave.

    Yup
Down here south of PDX in my neck of the woods it's the same stuff.

Fry for a couple days then wake up to cool and wet and build another fire.
