Found an older metal tag 044 for a decent price, thought I would resell it and make a few bucks... Problem is, I got the saw, gave it a quick look over, and put it in wood. This is one of the most impressive stock saws I have ever ran, and I refuse to part with it .
I buy and sell saws here and there, in hope that this CAD thing can self sustain. But this one just isn't leaving, and question myself as to why I haven't owned one of these early 044's a long time ago. Guess that MS241 is going to have to wait, as much as I have tried telling myself I need one. I will snatch a pic here in a bit.

So what did you pay for it??

I had to take a look at a 441... found it to be a 441C-M and at $270 I didn't even bargain. First run and I think it's a keeper, but now the old 038 Mag that I had big plans for is probably gonna be the one to go.

It wasn't quite the steal that your CM was, but it was a good deal. I do the best I can, to get the best price I can- but you are correct, when a deal is something I feel is ridiculously underpriced, I wont even haggle.
I bought some Honda Odysseys a while back, that I thought was almost too good to be true. I called the guy (he wasn't local), and told him that I would be down to pick them up, and to consider them sold. He held to his word, and they were everything that I hoped for. Turns out he was a real good dude, was just moving on in life and didn't have much invested (or so I think).

Clean 038 Magnums, and Magnum II's are bringing more and more money these days. I never had a soft spot for 038's, but as time passed I kind of developed one. I bought a pretty clean Magnum, for just over 2 bills almost a year ago- I cleaned it up, and it is here to stay. VERY strong runner, far more impressive than the 038 Super I had.

Awesome, your Odyssey story is kind of life when I bought my tractor. Went to buy an 025 listed for $25 on CL, bought a Kubota too at a great price, old timer moving and paying it forward.

My 038 started as a super with a toasted jug & slug, upgraded to a Magnum. I did not rebadge so I don't think it will fetch the price of a regular Magnum, but it is all of 72cc!

An 041G..... I remember that saw ;) That's the only saw I really remember. Other than the 70 other that were just hanging around. :)

One of the worst looking saws I had has been my favorite firewood saw! I don't think it looks bad and the best thing is you don't have to worry about putting a scratch in it or messing it up. It is kind of liberating to be able to just use them hard and not worry about it!
